Is Your Skincare Really Working For You?

Sia - The Skin Philosopher

Is your skincare working?

As a  Skin Therapist with 20 years of experience, I believe that skin sensitivity is not something we are born with but something we create.

Society today has led us down a path believing that all products and ingredients are equal.

There are two types of clients, one who would entrust their skin only to use organic and the other who loves the sensation of how the products feel on their skin despite the ingredients.

The only reason you may think that your current skincare is working is that you are not breaking out or having a bad reaction to it but is it really working.

Let me explain further, an over-the-counter product will not, as we call a delivery system,  penetrate the skin to reach the area where the problems lie to create a long term effect.

There will come a time when you question what happened when you know you used skincare most of your adult life.

Skincare should work with your skin, not against it. When the skin cannot identify the ingredients, it can reject them as foreign, and it will not penetrate, removing it and causing inflammation, irritation, and skin sensitivity.

Vitamin A, B, C, peptides, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatories, will not work if it's not in the correct skincare format.

So, understand how your skincare works for you.

Does it have a delivery system?

Is it feeding your skin correctly, or just because you have not had a bad reaction, you think it is doing something for you.

Do not be caught in painting a canvas - fix the canvas.
